Jun 23, 2009 News RiverCity Motorway Group Tunnelling on the Clem Jones Tunnel (CLEM7) in Australia is complete after the second tunnel boring machine broke through at Woolloongabba on 26.05.2009. The breakthrough represents an important milestone for the CLEM7 with both 4,000-tonne boring machines (named Matilda and Florence) having completed their historic 4.3 kilometre journey from Bowen Hills to Woolloongabba. RiverCity Motorway Group CEO Flan Cleary said the successful completion of tunnelling on the CLEM7 represented one of Brisbane’s greatest ever engineering achievements.

Nov 22, 2005 News Water Environment Federation (WEF) Hurricanes Katrina and Rita left in their wake considerable damage to water and wastewater systems in the affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. While federal, state and local officials are working diligently to assess the overall damage, a comprehensive evaluation of the damage to wastewater systems is not available. To meet this need, the Water Environment Federation (WEF), members working for utilities, and private companies are collaborating with global engineering, consulting and construction company Black & Veatch to develop and present an area-wide assessment of the damage and probable cost to rehabilitate or replace wastewater systems in the Gulf States.

Apart from this, Slovenia boasts one of the biggest ports of the northern Adriatic Sea that is located in the town Koper. Another, predominantly touristic coastal town very close to Koper is Izola. Both share a wastewater treatment plant which is designed for 75,000 inhabitants. However, the 5 km distance between the sewer system in Koper and Izola first had to be overcome.

A ceremony was held on March 18, 2008 to mark the official launch of the Robbins machine - the first of two TBMs to bore a 43.5 km (27.0 mi) long water tunnel for the Alimineti Madhava Reddy (AMR) Project.
