Given this type of surge flush flap gate, the three-dimensional shape of the sealing device ensures that, in the open position, the sewer cross section remains free from fittings/installations to the greatest possible extent. The three-dimensional shape means that the curvature adjusts itself to the sewer crown in the X-direction and to the sewer invert in the Y-direction. Thus, the arched flush gate is attached to the sewer invert when closed and to the sewer crown when open.
Due to its special construction that does not require any intermediate struts, the middle of the sewer cross section, having the highest flow velocities and thus, the essential part of the flow, remains entirely unobstructed. The common flush gate problems, e.g., the frequent formation of deposits or congestions, can therefore be avoided.
