NA-06 - Cleaning: Flushing Methods

Table of contents

Practical example II

Operating principle

Starting position
The flush gate is equipped with a special seal that blocks the dry weather water flow. The floating gauge sensor that triggers the flushing process is in the lowest position.

Retention
The water is backed up upstream. The floating gauge sensor floats upwards with rising water levels. The sewer section to be flushed dries out.

Flushing
When the floating gauge sensor has reached the trigger point, the flush gate is unlocked and shifted vertically upwards to release the surge wave. In the case of maintained water retention or given a large inflow, the flush gate is kept in this position.
