The camera nozzle is used to remove deposits in drains and sewers with the assistance of two integrated CCTV cameras spotting forwards and backward.
The video image is wirelessly transmitted between the CCTV camera and the receiver at ground level [Stein02a].
Due to continuous monitoring of the cleaning procedure, the manufacturer indicates that the cleaning performance can be individually adapted to the degree of pollution level, so that a reduction of energy, water and time can be achieved.
In addition, a more detailed CCTV inspection can be initiated by the cleaning staff if, during cleaning, damages to the sewer pipe are detected and roughly located. The video documentation of the cleaning procedure also serves as proof or documentation that the sewer was cleaned.
According to manufacturer specifications the camera can be used in nominal sizes of pipes ranging from DN 250 (10'') to DN 1,800 (72'') [FI-KEG].
