NA-06 - Cleaning: Flushing Methods

Cleaning balls

Process description

The cleaning balls are introduced into the sewer on a time interval (3-5 cleaning ball cycles per week) and normally by hand (in exceptional cases, also automatically via a ball magazine installed in the shaft). After the cleaning balls have passed the sewer length to be cleaned, they are retrieved via a collection device at an extraction point and then led back into the sewer at the starting point [Dinke1987].
