To prevent an immediate movement of the trolley during assembly, the side panels are also folded forward. In addition, a gate is opened in the central shield. After the assembly, the self-guided flushing shield is driven through the section of sewer to be cleaned. The shield height amounts to about 50 % of the sewer height. Initial problems caused by the jamming of the upper guidance rollers on lateral connections were solved by an additional installation of guides at the flushing shield.
