At temperatures of < 0° C, the cleaning vehicles are to be equipped with frost protection covers to avoid freezing of pumps and lines. The covers also provide a protective function against noise.

Plastic hoses are preferred over rubber hoses due to their superior hydraulic characteristics and lower weight. However, the first 10 to 20 m should be made of rubber, since it is more flexible and thus easier to manoeuver into the sewer line. A guide roller or HP hose guide is needed to protect and guide the hose around corners. The guide roller also provides lower friction forces.

When working with high-pressure flushing devices, the formation of aerosols in the area of the shaft station has to be prevented.
