Pioneering Technologies for Trenchless Pipeline Rehabilitation and Underground Water Storage

SPR (SEKISUI Pipe Renewal) Asia Pacific will be showcasing itself at Sydney´s International No-Dig Downunder from 1 to 4 September 2013 at Stand 28. The company will demonstrate its wide range of products and services which include Spiral-Wound, Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) and r.tec® Close Fit.
These technologies have all been patented, certified and recognised with international awards for outstanding achievements. The focus is on two pioneering products for trenchless pipe rehabilitation; the CIPP liner NORDIPIPETM and the Spiral-Wound pipe liner SPR™. In addition SPR Asia Pacific will present the pipe-in-pipe technology r.tec® Close Fit liner and the Cross-Wave storm water harvesting system which have both been recently introduced to the Australian market.
Trenchless pipe rehabilitation technologies are the core expertise of SPR (SEKISUI Pipe Renewal) Asia Pacific and offer the right solution for every application to suit the rising demands of both public and private network owners. These solutions meet the challenges posed by the renewal of underground infrastructure in a fast, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly manner without impacting on urban life. From 1 to 4 September SPR Asia Pacific will be exhibiting its extensive technology and services at the International No-Dig Downunder in Sydney at stand 28: the Spiral-Wound pipe liner range SPR™, SPR™ PE, SPR™ EX, SPR™ RO, SPR™ ST, the CIPP liner NORDIPIPE™ and TUBETEX™, the r.tec® Close Fit liner plus the storm water harvesting system Cross-Wave. The main focus will be on Spiral-Wound pipe liner SPR™, the Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) liner NORDIPIPE™ as well as the r.tec® Close Fit pipe-in-pipe technology and the Cross-Wave storm water harvesting system.
Exhibition visitors will be able to acquaint themselves with the SPR™ lining method as well as the full range. SPR™ is a Spiral-Wound pipe lining method, specially developed for rehabilitating storm water and sewer pipes with diameters up to 5000 mm. The system involves winding a Spiral-Wound pipe liner made from steel-reinforced PVC profiled strip into the old host pipe and later filling the annular gap with high strength grout. The SPR™ lining method enables rehabilitation not only of circular but also non-circular shapes such as egg, rectangular or mouth shapes. Other successful methods from this range such as SPR™ EX and SPR™ RO are also based on PVC profiled strips but do not require steel reinforcement and typically no grout is employed. SPR™ PE, a steel reinforced polyethylene liner, and SPR™ ST, which utilises stainless steel reinforcement, are also available, both require filling of the annular gap with low strength grout.
NORDIPIPE™ technology was developed for the trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipes. The fibreglass-reinforced needled felt liner is AS/NZS 4020 certified for the rehabilitation of drinking water pipelines with diameters of 150 mm to 1200 mm. Due to its glass-fibre reinforcement NORDIPIPE™ provides a fully structural solution capable of supporting both internal and external pressure loads. TUBETEX™ is a non structural liner approved to AS/NZS 4020 and can also be used for the rehabilitation of drinking water as well as gas pipelines. TUBETEX™ just like NORDIPIPE™ is a close fit relining solution.
Pipe-in-pipe technology r.tec® Close Fit can be used for both pressure and gravity pipes with diameters from 100 mm to 400 mm. The technology consists of a previously deformed HDPE pipe which is installed into the old host pipe using a winch. The r.tec® Close Fit liner is then reverted into its original shape by steam or pressure. The new pipe forms an intimate fit with the defective pipe without any annular gap. The proven r.tec® Close Fit pipe offers solutions for drinking water, gas, sewage and industrial pipelines.
The Cross-Wave system is an underground water storage solution that effectively makes use of storm water runoff storing it for later use. The system consists of tiles that are made of recycled and virgin polypropylene which are stacked to form the structural support component of the storage. The unique geometric interlocking modular design accepts traffic loading to 25t, which allows a full use of the surface area above for parks, sports grounds or even car parking space. Cross-Wave can be used both commercially or domestically to store water for later reuse, to control flood events by forming an infiltration basin or used for detention. Cross-Wave systems can be made as small or large as required thanks to the stackable modular nature of the product.
