NVP Energy and RealTech win water technology awards
Sep 01, 2017
An energy-positive industrial wastewater treatment system and a company specialising in online sensing and real-time analysis are winners of the 2017 BlueTech Forum Technology Awards. Delegates to the high-level event, held in Dublin on 7 June, selected the winners from a shortlist of 11 leading technology companies from across the world.
NVP Energy won Best Technology Innovation Award for its low-cost wastewater treatment technology, while water quality monitoring specialist RealTech Inc won Best Market Strategy Award.
Paul O’Callaghan, chief executive of BlueTech Research said, “I am delighted to announce two very worthy winners in this year’s BlueTech Forum Technology Awards. BlueTech analysts identify the companies leading the field in technological innovation and market readiness, but the winners are voted for by their peers in the water industry and investment community on the day.”
NVP Energy (NVPE), which is based in Ireland, has developed a wastewater treatment process targeted at the food and beverage industry with potential in municipal applications. The modular compact plants deliver treatment of low strength, low temperature wastewater at a fraction of the cost of other technologies.
RealTech is active in online sensing and real-time analysis, with technologies that complement the rapid upswing in internet of things connectivity. The Canadian company is undertaking research and development in the field of optical sensors, an emerging field which can provide very accurate, large-scale measurements without the need for chemical reagents.
Reduced cost
O’Callaghan said, “NVP Energy’s wastewater treatment technology offers substantially reduced operating costs for large water users in the industrial sector as well as municipal utilities.
“RealTech has achieved impressive international growth in its 13-year history and continues to invest in research and development. The company has a strong portfolio of industrial applications that have delivered to the bottom-line by optimising performance and reducing loss of product for its clients.”
The BlueTech Forum Technology Awards were sponsored by GE Water & Process Technologies. The winning companies will feature in the Innovation Pavilion at WEFTEC 2017, which takes place in Chicago, USA from 30 September to 4 October 2017.
BlueTech Research tracks innovation and provides actionable market intelligence on water technology trends and developments. The next BlueTech Forum will take place in Vancouver, Canada in June 2018.
