Major tender win for GPS PE Pipe Systems

Jul 29, 2009

GPS PE Pipe Systems, the Cambridgeshire-based manufacturer of polyethylene and multi-layer pipe systems, has been selected by the Wessex Consortium as their preferred supplier of water pipes and fittings.

GPS was successful in retaining a framework contract after the Wessex Consortium, consisting of Wessex Water, Bristol Water and Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water, assessed competitive products and bids during the extensive tender process. The award re-inforces GPS as the leading supplier of PE systems in the southwest of England.

The contract covers all of the Wessex Consortium's PE requirements, from standard PE80 and PE100 to barrier and peelable pipes, as well as the most complete range of associated fittings.

The Wessex Consortium will have access to an array of innovative products, including GPS’s award winning Protecta-Line, the original and largest UK manufactured barrier pipe for brownfield and contaminated land. Also included in the contract is the new Excel 3c (PE100) pipe, the unique, DWI recognised solution to negate the need for the lengthy pipe pre-chlorination process prior to installation of potable water pipes.

Dom West, GPS Sales Director, commented: "We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract with the Wessex Consortium and look forward to strengthening the close working relationship we developed in previous years. Yet again, we have demonstrated that our customers benefit from the market’s best overall package; unrivalled technical expertise, product innovation, premier service and - most importantly – dedication to building true partnership where our focus is on supporting our customer’s growth."
