Oldcastle Infrastructure™ is part of the Building Products division of CRH, the largest building materials company in North America. Oldcastle Infrastructure is pleased to announce that the BioPod Biofilter System with StormMix media has been approved by the California State Water Resources Control Board Region 4 for storm water biofiltration.
With this approval, designers and engineers in LA County have access to a high-performance option to meet green infrastructure storm water goals. BioPod has previously been approved by a range of jurisdictions, including the States of Washington, New Jersey, and Virginia.
BioPod systems use an advanced biofiltration design for filtration, sorption, and biological uptake to remove Total Suspended Solids (TSS), metals, nutrients, gross solids, trash and debris as well as petroleum hydrocarbons from storm water runoff. Featuring advanced, sustainable StormMix media, BioPod is eligible for use in any project in LA County that meets the Water Board’s alternative biofiltration criteria.
“With BioPod approved by the Water Board, LA County designers have a state-of-the-art option for high flow rate, low maintenance biofiltration for storm water treatment and green infrastructure solutions, backed by Oldcastle Infrastructure’s best-in-class support,” said Mark Sweeney, Oldcastle Infrastructure Storm Water Product Manager.
