Abtech Holdings Selected by The Artemis Project™ as a 2012 “Top 50” Water Company

Abtech Holdings, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of patented innovative environmental technologies addressing issues of water pollution and contamination, is pleased to announce that it has been chosen for the 2012 Artemis Top 50 Water Tech Listing™. This is the fourth consecutive year that AbTech has appeared on the prestigious list.

“The Artemis Top 50 is the water industry’s benchmark for innovation that will matter. It identifies the new solutions that will meet the world's water challenges,” stated Laura Shenkar, Top 50 Chair. “The Top 50 are some of the most promising start-ups in the emerging high tech wave in water.”
 
AbTech was selected by a jury that included experts from corporations such as Intel, Archer Daniels Midland, IBM, Ecolab and Syngenta, as well as McKinsey, CH2M Hill, Carollo Engineers and Singapore’s Public Utilities Board.
 
“We are honored to be recognized once again by The Artemis Project,” commented Glenn Rink, CEO of AbTech. “Over the past decade we have carefully developed an efficient and cost-effective solution to eliminate contaminants such as hydrocarbons from large bodies of water. We own 17 U.S. patents involving various technologies, including an antimicrobial product that is the first such product registered with the EPA for outdoor use. We also recently received a Notice of Allowance from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for an additional patent regarding the Smart Sponge® Plus technology. While the market we are currently addressing is extremely large, we intend to expand our capabilities by targeting additional harmful contaminants that pollute our waterways, as we continue our research and development efforts in areas such as heavy metals.”
 
The Top 50 will be honored at the Cleantech Group Water Innovation Summit on September 13 in Berkley, California. The goal of the Summit is to promote closer cooperation between corporations and technologies in an effort to facilitate their adoption into the market.
