Water Expo China 2014

China will offer a package of favourable policies to encourage the private sector to tap into the country's multi-billion-dollar water conservancy infrastructure construction sector. Speaking at the Ministerial Conference of the 6th World Water Forum held during 2013, Mr Chen Lei, China’s Minister of Water Resources said: “Investment will be scaled up in the coming decade and a water financing mechanism with a public budget and revenue as a major channel shall be set up.”The government is planning to invest USD 636 billion through to 2020 in various projects to harness water and prevent related disasters.
