Dr.-Ing. Volker Cornelius als VBI-Präsident bestätigt: Darmstädter Bauingenieur führt weitere drei Jahre den Verband Beratender Ingenieure - Dialog mit Politik und Auftraggebern soll intensiviert werden

Dr.-Ing. Volker Cornelius (58) ist am 20. Oktober in Köln mit großer Mehrheit als VBI-Präsident wiedergewählt worden. Die VBI-Mitglieder sprachen dem Beratenden Ingenieur aus Darmstadt für weitere drei Jahre das Vertrauen aus. Ebenfalls in ihren Ämtern bestätigt wurden der 1. Vizepräsident Ernst Ebert (66) aus Nürnberg und der 2. Vizepräsident Dr.-Ing. Rainer Weiske (64) aus Stuttgart. Als Beisitzer im VBI-Vorstand wurden Dr.-Ing. Joachim Knüpfer (52), Harburg, Dipl.-Ing. Lars Leppers (40), Hannover, Dr.-Ing. Hans-Gerd Lindlar (52), Berlin, und Dr. Werner Wohlfarth (63), Burscheid, wiedergewählt. Neu im VBI-Vorstand ist Dipl.-Ing. Heinrich Best (49) aus Bochum.
Rund 53.000 mittelständische Ingenieurbüros generieren in Deutschland jährlich ein Umsatzvolumen von etwa 27 Mrd. Euro. Dabei verantworten sie ein Bauvolumen von rund 204 Mrd. Euro und beschäftigen mehr als 300.000 Menschen. Etwa 57.000 jungen Menschen geben sie durch Ausbildungsplätze, Praktikanten- und Diplomandenstellen eine Perspektive.
