Mit CONNEX voll im Zeitplan: Herford zählt neben Bielefeld und Gütersloh zu den Verdichtungsräumen in Ostwestfalen. Kennzeichnend für diese Ballungsgebiete ist ein hohes Maß an Bebauung. Dort, wo die natürliche Versickerung nur begrenzt gewährleistet ist, stellen sich besondere Herausforderungen an die Kanalisation. Diese Erfahrung machte auch der Immobilien- und Abwasserbetrieb der Stadt am konkreten Beispiel: Eine Berechhttp://www.unitracc.de/aktuelles/artikel/neuer-mischwassersammler-in-herford#fieldsetlegend-datesnung der hydraulischen Leistungsfähigkeit des Kanalnetzes anhand der versiegelten Flächen zeigte, dass rund 80 Teilstücke unterdimensioniert waren. Die Stadt Herford nahm sich dieser Problematik direkt an: Sukzessive werden die betroffenen Haltungen saniert. Unter anderem wurden in der Elverdisserstraße ca. 160 m CONNEX-Rohre DN/OD 800, 60 m in der Nennweite DN/OD 630 sowie CONNEX-Abzweige zur Einbindung der Hausanschlüsse in den Sammler verlegt. Rohre und Formteile aus dem CONNEX-Kanalrohrsystem kommen in der Kommune nicht zum ersten Mal zum Einsatz. Bereits an anderen Stellen im Kanalnetz hat die Stadt gute Erfahrungen mit dem Produkt sammeln können.
