"A common application of the ejector technology are water jet pumps, where the fluid to be pumped (sewage water) is accelerated by another fluid that is additionally fed in (flushing water jets), so that the former fluid is accelerated and mobilized downstream. The ejectors used in sewer operation are fluid jet pumps. The pressurized flushing water (propellant water) from the flushing vehicle is led to the ejector via a high-pressure hose connection. In the ejector nozzle, the water pressure is transformed into kinetic energy which in turn is used to propel and increase the volumetric flow of the sewage. Due to the viscosity of the fluid, the propellant water flow formed in the process carries along the sewage debris. Along the flow path, the propelling water and the sewer water are mixed until the energy is exchanged completely." [Bosse2004a].
