BE-13 Renovation: Lining with Cured-In-Place Pipes - Processes - v01

Heat-Initiated Curing / Hot Curing

Hot Curing with Hot Water

Hot curing can be carried out using hot water or steam. The curing process runs through three phases.

  • Warming up phase of the process water (also serves for temperature compensation for the pipe/soil system)

  • Curing phase

  • Cooling phase (also serves in particular to avoid temperature stresses in the CIPP product)

During the entire curing phase, the installation pressure and temperature curves must be continuously documented and must comply with the specifications in the system manual.

During hot water curing, the flow and return temperatures at the starting manhole, the height of the water column as well as the temperatures between the lining tube and the host pipe must be continuously documented. In all intermediate manholes / shafts and at the end manhole, the temperatures between the lining tube and the host pipe are periodically documented using temperature measuring devices.
