Watex 2016: An Industry on the Upswing
Nov 09, 2016
At the WATEX in Tehran, Iran, IBAK impressed with convincing quality made in Germany, enjoyed a good turnout on their stand at the German Pavilion and renewed the contacts made before the sanctions were imposed.
The International Water & Waste Water Exhibition (WATEX) is the leading trade fair in Iran in the water and waste water industry sector and is the most important platform for German companies to achieve success in this region. The exhibition took place at Tehran International Ground Fair for the 12th time from 25th to 28th September and, with a total of 375 exhibitors, was able to register a small increase over last year.
IBAK had a stand at the Pavilion of the GSTT (German Society for Trenchless Technology) where a total of 24 German exhibitors were represented. As the only camera and cutter robot manufacturer among these 24, IBAK was able to welcome a large number of visitors to the stand. The convincing quality made in Germany proved to be an attractive magnet to the trade visitors in attendance.
IBAK salesperson Babette Ney demonstrated to the interested public the ARGUS camera and the MiniLite, because, in Iran also, the inspection of laterals is a very important issue. Babette Ney was assisted by the IBAK partners ATICER who were represented at the exhibition with their own stand in the outdoor area and also acted as contact persons on the IBAK stand.
The IBAK Robotics cutter robots also attracted a great deal of interest.
In addition, a trend that already began last year became apparent. State institutions such as water authorities that at present exclusively use IBAK systems are increasingly outsourcing inspections to contractors. This opens a more broadly based market with a demand for reliable quality.
With the upward tendency that began last year, and after the WATEX 2016, IBAK is looking ahead with confidence. Now it's only a question of waiting to see when the funds frozen outside of Iran are released, so that Iran can fully reenter the world market. Visitors to the WATEX expect that this will be the case in 2017.
