For NO-DIG 2011 the decision between two nominations had to be made: Pretoria, South Africa, and Berlin, Germany with each nominee having 15 minutes to convince the board. Due to the professional presentation by the GSTT with interactive slides and a film about the capital Berlin supported by some substantial arguments such as the joint event with the WASSER BERLIN 2011 exhibition, the decision was made in favour of Berlin after a though struggle.
The selection process went according the given rules including a preliminary discussion of the Executive Committee which was followed by a meeting of the present 19 National Societies without the applying Societies.
