Pump Technology Launch 3D BIM Library for Wastewater & Sewage Pumping Systems
Dec 15, 2020
3D CAD models & product data satisfy increasing demand on digital information and improves customer service.
Pump Technology Ltd., based in Berkshire, UK, have developed in cooperation with CADENAS the comprehensive 3D BIM library of wastewater pumping systems (incorporating Jung Pumpen pumps) to compliment the recently launched Jung Pumpen 3D BIM library for the Compli sewage lifting station range.
Pump Technology is now the largest of the two authorized UK Jung Pumpen GmbH distributors/stockiest working directly with the factory in Germany. They are responsible for the specification, supply and support of Jung Pumpen products.
3D BIM CAD data and meta information of pumping systems are now available for free
With the new 3D BIM library public health engineers can view the wastewater & sewage pumping systems in 3D. They can configure/select and download a 3D BIM model in over 150 native CAD formats for free such as Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Microstation etc, as well as download a 3D PDF data sheet of the configured product.
This will save engineers and potential customers time and effort by allowing them to incorporate the 3D BIM products into their complete 3D virtual BIM design. The models will also include piping and electrical connection information as well as other technical information, allowing the customer to design piping runs early in the building design phase if wished.
Improved customer service
When an engineer downloads a 3D BIM product, they can also link with Pump Technology Ltd. This allows the technical team to start a conversation with the customer to ensure they have the best solution for their application. Pump Technology Ltd have partnered with CADENAS UK Solutions to deliver the online 3D product configurators which provide an easy to use 24/7 360 days self-service digital product delivery.
Colin Johnson Managing director CADENAS UK Solutions says: “Being able to provide and deliver a 3D digital product has become an essential part of a manufactures “go to market” strategy. No longer are a company’s products the only differentiator in the market, it’s also about ease of doing business which wins the day.”
Since 1992 CADENAS have been providing digital 3D eCATALOGs helping manufactures deliver 3D digital products in over 150 native CAD formats. The robust technology builds a manufacturer’s configured product “On the Fly” by using the actual API’s of the requested CAD format. This ensure that smart intelligent 3D product models are delivered directly to the engineer, customer, or prospect enabling them to incorporate these into their designs saving time and money.
Strong increasing demand of digital product information
The demand for 3D product content has been increasing year on year by over 20% with the downloading of native CAD models and with the global situation, this has further increased the demand for 3D digital product content as people adapt and work differently. CADENAS is delivering up to 72 Million 3D CAD models globally each month.
Pump Technology have recognized that the market and their customers are changing, and that over 50% of today’s workforce are Millennials (People born between 1980 and 2000). And in the next 4 years this will grow to 75% of the global workforce.
Millennials have grown up with smart phones and the internet and have an expectation that companies will be able to deliver a full digital product experience. If a manufacturer is unable to provide this, then they very quickly move onto one that can. Pump Technology are a great example of a company that understand how their market and customers are changing and have a vision to deliver greater value in order to differentiate themselves in a demanding market.
Original pump information for individual product configuration
Behind the scenes, the CADENAS technology that supports the online product configurators is a cloud-based solution, which allows the Pump Technology configurators to be the “Single Source of the Truth”. These configurators will be available on the company’s web site but will also be available on mobile apps. This means that the products can be viewed/configured in the office or onsite. Pump Technology products will be instantly available at the fingertips of the engineer on site delivering all of the up-to-date required product data on demand.
