Bureau of Reclamation Awards Nearly $1 Million for Water Purification and Desalination Pilot Projects
The Bureau of Reclamation has awarded nearly $1 million for projects under an innovative pilot-scale water treatment technologies and desalination program. The selected projects will receive funding through cooperative agreements and will include a period of pilot testing at the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and other sites across the country.

HDD Accepted for Logan Project
The Logan City Council have begun the longest underground drilling project in the city’s history, using horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The project will use HDD to lay pipes over 1.32 km from Greenbank to Flagstone, connecting Greater Flagstone to the council’s wastewater facility in Cedar Grove.

SJW Group and Connecticut Water Complete Combination to Create Leading Pure Play Water and Wastewater Utility
SJW Group and Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (“Connecticut Water”) announced the close of their merger. The combined company, SJW Group, is the third-largest investor-owned pure play water and wastewater utility based on rate base in the United States, serving nearly 1.5 million people across California, Connecticut, Maine and Texas. In connection with the closing of the transaction, Connecticut Water is now a wholly owned subsidiary of SJW Group, and Connecticut Water’s common shares have ceased trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
