TTC honours the past while driving the future through the establishment of the Barbera Underground Infrastructure Research and Training (BUIRT) Facility.

This facility honours the past through the recognition of the contributions from the families of Jim and Leo Barbera. It drives the future of the industry through the establishment of world-class field training and research facility. This facility will be available for the research, development, and training for the entire trenchless technology industry including TTC Speciality Schools such as Auger Boring School and Utility Investigation School. In addition, it will be available for international equipment and material manufactures and technology porviders for R&D and technology validation. This faciliy will replace the facility which was used for the previous TTC Auger Boring School. We would like to invite industry organizations to visit TTC to see how this facility and our National Trenchless Technology Research Facility can be used to assist their mission.

This faciliy will include a climate controlled enclosure features fpr year-round utilization. It will have an advanced smart sound system to enhance the learning experience.

This project will be on a fast track for the inauguration ceremony during the next TTC Auger Boring School taking place on Nov 12 to Nov 16 2018.

The Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) at Louisiana Tech University in conjunction with the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) have teamed to hold the third TTC ABS School in 2018. This 5-day school has been developed to provide students with the knowledge and background needed to understand the important components of Auger Boring (AB) operations required to produce successful projects. In addition to the classroom lectures, practical sessions will be held where participants will be offered hands-on experience with the AB equipment. The school will be instructed by the foremost experts in the country. The course covers all aspects of a project from design to construction, with a special focus on safety.
